Re-engaging patients: retargeting & push
Win back people who signed up but never ordered, and send push notifications to opted-in patients.
Two tools on the Marketing page help you bring patients back: Retargeting emails for people who signed up but never bought, and Push notifications for opted-in patients.
Retargeting: win back signups who never ordered
The Retargeting tab targets exactly the people worth chasing — those who created an account but never placed an order. At the top you'll see how many users are Eligible now (signed up, no order, and not recently contacted).
To run a batch:
- Set a Batch size.
- Click Preview to see who would receive it.
- Click Send batch and confirm.
Each recipient gets a retargeting email with a one-tap login link back into your portal, lowering the friction to finally order. You can also send to a single address from the Send to one user card.
Retargeting emails go out through your clinic's email — make sure email is working (a test send lives in Settings → General → Email).
Push notifications
The Push notifications tab sends a message straight to patients' phones (they must have your mobile app installed). Choose your Audience:
- All opted-in patients
- Active patients
- Patients who have ordered
- Patients with a tag (enter the tag, e.g.
vip)
Then add a Title, Message, and optional Link, and send. Before it goes, you'll see how many patients match and how many were excluded.
Who actually receives a push
Push notifications only reach patients who opted in to "Marketing & Promotions" in the app and have a registered device. Patients who didn't opt in, or who don't have the app, are automatically excluded — so your marketing respects their choices.
This is for marketing. Order updates, shipping notices, and injection reminders are sent automatically and aren't affected by these opt-ins — you don't need to send those yourself.
Good practice
- Lead with value, not noise. A relevant nudge ("your refill's due") beats a generic blast every time.
- Segment with tags. Tag patients from their record, then push to just that tag — far better response than messaging everyone.
- Mind frequency. Over-messaging is the fastest way to lose opt-ins.
