Categories & signup paths
Define the goals patients choose at signup and the question set each one leads to.
Categories are the goals a new patient picks from when they sign up — things like Weight loss, Strength, or Anti-aging. Each category also decides which set of intake questions the patient answers next. You manage all of this on the Categories page.
How a category becomes a signup goal
A category shows up as a goal on your patient signup page only when both are true:
- Show at signup is turned on, and
- the category has at least one live (in-stock) product.
That second rule prevents dead ends — a goal with nothing to sell would send a patient down a path that can't finish. The Categories page shows the live-product count for every category and flags any that are toggled on but have nothing live yet ("No live products — won't show"). If a goal isn't appearing on your signup page, this is almost always why.
The two quick edits you'll make most
Right in the table, without opening anything:
- Show at signup — the toggle that offers this goal to new patients.
- Signup path — the dropdown that picks which standard question set the patient answers after choosing this goal:
- Weight loss
- Strength & recovery
- Anti-aging & longevity
- Mood & energy
- General (goal-agnostic) — a short path for custom goals without a dedicated question set
Both save the moment you change them.
Creating and editing categories
Click Add category (or the pencil on any row) to set:
- Name — what the patient sees (e.g. "Skin & Hair")
- Description — optional supporting line under the goal
- Signup path — as above
- Accent color and icon — how the goal looks in the app
- Sort order — lower numbers show first
Standard vs custom categories
- Standard categories (from the starter kit) can be edited and deactivated, but not deleted — this keeps the built-in paths intact.
- Custom categories you create can be deleted outright.
Deactivate (the eye icon) hides a category everywhere without losing it — use this instead of deleting when you simply want to stop offering a goal for a while. Reactivate it any time.
A good setup
- Turn Show at signup on for the goals you actively sell.
- Make sure each of those has at least one live product.
- Confirm each is pointed at the right signup path so patients get the correct questions.
- Turn Show at signup off (or deactivate) anything you're not ready to offer.
→ Live products come from the Products page. The questions and results screens come from Forms.
